Gameplay Guide

From your first hex stack to advanced colour-matching strategies — here is how Hexa Sort works.

1

Read the Goal

Each level displays a collection target — a specific colour or number of merged stacks you must reach.

2

Move Stacks

Tap and drag a hex stack to an empty slot or onto a compatible stack with matching top tiles.

3

Trigger Merges

When enough matching tiles align, they merge and disappear, freeing space and counting toward your goal.

Core Mechanics

Stacking: Hex tiles sit in vertical stacks on a honeycomb grid. You can only move the top stack from any column, similar to classic tower puzzles.

Matching: Tiles of the same colour merge when grouped. Plan ahead so you do not bury needed colours beneath others.

Space Management: Empty slots are limited. Running out of moves ends the level — think two or three steps ahead before every drag.

Tips for New Players

🎯

Focus on the Goal

Do not merge every colour you see. Prioritise the target colour shown at the top of the screen.

🔄

Keep Slots Open

Always maintain at least one empty hex slot. It gives you room to shuffle stacks during tight situations.

👁️

Rotate the Board

Use the 3D view to inspect hidden tile colours beneath the top layer before committing to a move.

Power-Ups & Boosters

Hexa Sort offers optional power-ups such as undo moves, extra slots, and colour hints. These can be earned through gameplay or acquired via in-app purchases. They are helpful but never mandatory — skilled sorting alone is enough to progress through most levels.

Progression System

Levels grow gradually harder, introducing new tile colours, tighter space constraints, and multi-step collection goals. Seasonal events and themed collections add variety, giving long-term players fresh boards to tackle without changing the core free-to-play formula.
